Colloquia
The department hosts a colloquium on some aspect of mathematics and statistics each week during fall, winter, and spring terms unless otherwise indicated on the schedule at the link below. Disciplines include discrete mathematics, applied mathematics, meath education and statistics.
Unless otherwise stated, all colloquia are held in Room 224 in the Mathematical and Microbiological Sciences Building at 3:00 p.m. on Friday afternoons. Each talk is preceded by a meet and greet with refreshments at 2:30 p.m. in the staff and faculty lounge (Room 222 MM).
The talks are open to the public and a .pdf file of the abstract of the current week's talk is available at the link below. Please check with the colloquium speaker before recording any talks.

Refreshments will be provided in the Staff and Faculty Lounge (Room 222 MM) at 2:30 p.m. The talk will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the Seminar Room (Room 224 MM).

Directions to the Talk
Colloquium attendees should turn left once entering the Mathematical and Microbiological Sciences Building and proceed to the end of the hallway. Turn right and go down the ramp. You will find an elevator to your right. Go to the second floor, turn left and go up the ramp. Turn left and proceed down the hallway until you reach the pillar. The Staff and Faculty Lounge (Room 222) and the Seminar Room (Room 224) will be on the right.

Mazumdar Lectures
The first Mazumdar Lecture for Mathematics was hosted by the department in October 2007 and each year the series continues with presentations by notable mathematicians. Please check back later for information concerning the speaker and topic for the 2009-2010 school year.
